Peppol participant lookup, a free standalone tool for debugging and learning

Maventa has released a standalone tool for looking up and exploring participants in the Peppol network: Peppol participant lookup.

This is not part of the Maventa product itself. It is a free, publicly available tool for anyone who works with Peppol and wants to understand the network better. Whether you are debugging a delivery issue, learning about Peppol identifiers, or simply curious about which participants and document types exist, this tool is for you.

This tool is intended for debugging, testing, and learning purposes only. It is not meant for day-to-day use by Peppol end users to check if a recipient is reachable via Peppol.

The tool is free to use within reasonable limits but provided as-is without any guarantees.

What you can do

Participant ID lookup

Look up any Peppol participant using their full identifier (e.g. 0216:003734782098). The tool performs a real Peppol lookup and also checks whether the participant is listed in Peppol Directory. You will see:

Browse schemes and participants

Peppol uses many different identifier schemes across countries and organisations, which can sometimes be confusing. The Browse schemes & participants button lets you browse all available schemes, see which countries they apply to, and how many participants of each type exist in the network.

You can also browse a sample of participants within any scheme to get a concrete understanding of how the network is structured and used in practice.

Browse document types

The Browse document types button lets you explore the different document types registered in Peppol Directory, sorted by popularity or alphabetically. This helps you understand what kinds of documents are actually being exchanged across the network, beyond just invoices and credit notes.

Search for participants by name. This is based on data from Peppol Directory, fetched daily and stored locally. This means:

Data freshness

All browsing and search features are based on data from Peppol Directory, updated daily. The data is at most one day behind the live directory. The participant ID lookup, however, always performs a real-time query against the Peppol network.

Need a Peppol Access Point?

Maventa offers secure and compliant invoicing in Peppol and more. Through the Maventa API, you can add Peppol services to your software without becoming an Access Point yourself. Read more about Maventa’s Peppol services.

Enter your credentials to Maventa testing environment, to authenticate and try things out with the Swagger UI. This will fetch a Bearer token using OAuth2 with the endpoint POST https://ax-stage.maventa.com/oauth2/token. The token is stored in your browser's session storage (cleared when you close the tab) and used in Swagger calls done from this documentation website. The token is valid for 1 hour.

Never use your production credentials here. This is only for testing the Maventa test environment in the Swagger UI.
