Iceland (IS) is now an allowed country for company registration through both the REST and SOAP APIs.

Icelandic company identifier
Icelandic companies are identified by their kennitala (IS:KTNR), a 10-digit legal entity identifier, for example 5902691070. Validation is structural (legal entity range and check digit); national registry lookups are not yet performed, and kennitalas of natural persons are rejected.
No VAT number is derived or required for Icelandic companies.
Customer authentication
Visma Sign is not available for Iceland. Partners with an approved customer authentication process of their own must authorise the company through the API using the standard authorisation endpoints:
- SOAP API: authorize_company / authorize_companies (with authorization_method parameter)
- REST API: POST /v1/company/authorization
Registration through the Maventa user interface is not available for Iceland.
Available services after authorisation
Once authorised, Icelandic companies can use:
- Sending and receiving within Maventa’s network
- Email invoicing
- Print (invoices are printed in Finland and sent from Finland)
Limitations and roadmap
The following services are not yet available for Iceland:
- Peppol network registration and delivery
- Scanning services (AutoScan and DocScan)
- National registry checks during registration
